Our Producer Partnership with SHGs

At Odisha Desi Haat, we work closely with Self Help Groups (SHGs) as primary producers, enabling them to bring authentic, high-quality products directly to markets across India. These SHGs are community-based producer groups rooted in traditional skills, local resources, and sustainable practices.

We support SHGs not just as suppliers, but as long-term production partners. Our collaboration covers the entire value chain—from product development and quality standardization to branding, market access, and order fulfillment. This ensures that SHG-produced goods meet the expectations of institutional buyers, retailers, and government procurement platforms while preserving their originality and cultural identity.

As production partners, SHGs associated with Odisha Desi Haat are involved in:

  • Handcrafted and handmade product manufacturing
  • Agro-based and natural product processing
  • Traditional food, textile, and handicraft production
  • Eco-friendly and locally sourced product creation

We assist SHGs with design inputs, packaging improvements, compliance support, pricing guidance, and bulk order readiness, allowing them to scale sustainably without losing control over their production processes.

All products sold through Odisha Desi Haat are ethically sourced, traceable to producer groups, and manufactured under fair working conditions. Our partnership model ensures transparent pricing and fair remuneration, directly benefiting SHG members and strengthening rural livelihoods.

By working with SHG producers, Odisha Desi Haat helps bridge the gap between grassroots producers and modern markets—creating opportunities for inclusive growth, women-led enterprises, and sustainable local economies.

Together, we are building a responsible supply ecosystem that values craftsmanship, community ownership, and long-term impact.
