Our Mission & Model
The mission of Odisha Desi Haat is to strengthen rural livelihoods by enabling sustainable market access for farmers, FPOs, SHGs, and artisans. The platform is built on the belief that producer groups should participate as market partners, not just suppliers.
ODH follows a producer-first operating model that combines digital commerce, capacity building, and compliance support. Producer groups are onboarded through a structured process that focuses on quality standards, packaging, traceability, and pricing transparency. This ensures products are market-ready while preserving traditional practices and local identity.
The model supports both direct-to-consumer sales and institutional procurement, including bulk buyers and government channels. By integrating logistics, payments, and visibility under one system, ODH reduces operational friction for producers and buyers alike.
The mission is not short-term trade but long-term value creation — enabling producer organisations to grow sustainably, improve incomes, and participate meaningfully in India’s evolving digital commerce ecosystem.

Mission 2026
Odisha Desi Haat is building digital and physical market infrastructure that enables rural and tribal producers to participate directly in India’s food economy. Unlike brand-led models, ODH distributes value to producers, preserves indigenous food systems, and strengthens FPOs as economic institutions. CSR, grant, and blended finance support are essential to build this public-good infrastructure, de-risk early participation, and ensure long-term, inclusive impact.
