What is Koraput Coffee?

Koraput coffee is a single-origin Arabica coffee grown in the biodiverse tribal highlands of Koraput district, Odisha.
Sourced from the Koraput district of Odisha, this coffee is grown by tribal farming communities (TDCCOL) using natural methods.
The region's elevation (900–1,350 metres), dense forest canopy, and rich red-laterite soil create ideal conditions for slow cherry development — giving the beans a naturally smooth flavour with low acidity.

Unlike commercial blends, Koraput coffee is cultivated without chemical pesticides under traditional shade-grown methods. Every batch is traceable to tribal farmer cooperatives supported by TDCCOL (Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation of Odisha Ltd).

How to Brew Koraput Coffee Powder

South Indian filter coffee: use 2 tsp per cup, brew with near-boiling water

French Press: 1 tbsp per 200ml, steep 4 minutes, plunge slowly

Drip coffee maker: medium-fine grind, standard ratio

Cold brew: 1:8 ratio, steep overnight in fridge for 12–14 hours

Why Koraput Coffee is Different from Other Indian Coffees

Grown in Odisha's tribal belt — distinct terroir not found in Coorg or Chikmagalur

Washed-process beans for clean, bright cup

Direct tribal farmer sourcing — no middlemen, fair trade model

GI-linked region with government-backed quality assurance through TDCCOL

Award-recognized variety at national coffee tasting competitions
